Coffee&Play: Luz y juego, Algorithm en movimiento

Coffee&Play es una sala de juegos recientemente inaugurada en la ciudad de Sevilla que alberga una gran variedad de instalaciones de ocio cubiertas, combinadas con un servicio de catering que incluye un exclusivo servicio de cócteles.

El ocio es el paradigma de la vida contemporánea, tanto el que se basa en la realidad virtual como el tradicional. Por ello Coffee & Play ofrece máquinas de juego, pantallas que muestran eventos deportivos y videojuegos de alta tecnología.

Para la iluminación del interior de Coffee & Play se optó por la instalación Algorithm diseñada por Toan Nguyen para Vibia. Esta luminaria a medida ha sido adaptada de una manera muy específica: los carriles que sostienen los globos de vidrio soplado, normalmente en una disposición estática escultural, se han motorizado para proporcionar una instalación cinética escultural, es decir, en movimiento y que se puede programar en diferentes configuraciones.

Como las salas de juego están normalmente cerradas al exterior, la iluminación artificial ha de estar cuidadosamente controlada teniendo en cuenta la sensibilidad de los monitores, videojuegos y máquinas de juego. En este contexto, la instalación Algorithm adquiere una doble función: no solo ilumina sino que aporta también un aspecto lúdico que refleja las actividades dentro de este espacio.
