El making of de Curtain: luz en cascada

Arik Levy se aventura en un territorio inexplorado con CURTAIN, una nueva tipología de iluminación que combina la luz directa de una fuente LED con una difusión vertical que fluye a través del tejido. Levy describe el conjunto suspendido como una instalación más que una simple lámpara. «CURTAIN es una colección que va más allá de la luz: es luz pero también es espacio y arquitectura«.

 

 

CURTAIN consiste en una lámpara flexible y versátil que combina la definición espacial y la iluminación en un producto que resulta igualmente impactante tanto si se usa una única luminaria como si se combinan varias unidades para crear configuraciones de iluminación. Su innovación se define por la combinación de elementos: los LED, el tejido y los cables de suspensión. «Una caja de herramientas con la que puedes construir y deconstruir lo que quieras hacer en el espacio.»

Uno de los aspectos más desafiantes del diseño fue el tejido, encontrar la textura adecuada que garantizara la correcta difusión de la luz de abajo hacia arriba o de arriba abajo. Este tratamiento de la luz está inspirado en la forma en que los rayos del sol fluyen a través de una cortina. Existen dos opciones de acabados para el tejido screen y dos opciones también para el perfil de aluminio que alberga la fuente de luz LED.
