Martín Azúa, diseñador vasco instalado en Barcelona, ha trabajado para muchas empresas y organizaciones internacionales como Kvadrat, Camper, Droog, el Campeonato Europeo de Atletismo y Expo Zaragoza. Ha creado para Vibia la colección personalizable Halo. Dedicado al diseño de productos, espacios y exposiciones, es reconocido por su enfoque experimental y el uso de materiales naturales. El trabajo de Azúa está incluido en la colección permanente del MOMA en Nueva York, así como en el Museo del Diseño de Barcelona.

¿Cuál es la mayor influencia en los diseños de sus productos?

La naturaleza es una gran fuente de inspiración en mi trabajo, no solo en términos estéticos, sino también como estrategia. Siempre es sabia.

 

¿El momento en que más disfrutas en el proceso creativo?

La oleada inicial de entusiasmo, cuando una imagen mental se convierte en el primer esbozo.

 

¿El lugar favorito para el primer esbozo?

Los lugares menos pensados, sobre cualquier pedazo de papel a mano: un tren, un avión o una cafetería.

Hace tiempo encontré mi lugar perfecto: Pico, una isla de las Azores portuguesas. Un día viviré allí.
