Sessions en Presidio, San Francisco

En el ambiente neblinoso del bullicioso centro de San Francisco, un bistró gourmet que sirve cerveza artesana es un sueño hecho realidad. Los propietarios Michael Bilger y Evin Gelleri, anteriormente dueños de dos restaurantes en el distrito financiero,  comparten la pasión por elaborar sus propias cervezas, algo que han querido plasmar en su último proyecto. Por primera vez juntos han creado un nuevo tipo de bar americano, Sessions, un ambiente de inspiración tradicional con una carta con ingredientes de cultivo local.

Con la contratación de Lundberg Design, una empresa conocida por fabricar elementos únicos y hechos a mano para vestir los espacios que diseñan, Bilger y Gelleri han renovado los 510 metros cuadrados del local y trabajado para unificar el ambiente, eliminando las paredes opacas y el techo bajo que no dejaban que el anterior espacio fluyera.

Para equilibrar la niebla característica del ambiente externo, Lundberg Design ha creado un ambiente interior luminoso gracias al delicado tono amarillo del pino de azúcar del norte de California, techos altos, amplios ventanales y suelos de madera de testa de abeto Douglas. Uno de los principales objetivos era conseguir un proyecto “espacioso, abierto y conectado con el paisaje”, afirma la arquitecta Dina Bobkin de Lundberg Design.

Las luminarias esculturales Wireflow-free de Vibia se han colocado en el techo formando estructuras geométricas. “Las lámparas Vibia proporcionan un toque elegante sin ser dominantes ni obstruir la visión, dice Dobkin, el diseño esencial y las líneas finas de estas lámparas refuerzan la linealidad  de los revestimientos horizontales de madera de pino que recubren parte de las paredes y techos.”

Wireflow ha sido instalada específicamente en una zona donde el techo de hormigón original ha quedado a la vista. La composición de los cables dirige la mirada hacia ese material y se integra en la estética limpia y moderadamente industrial. Las líneas negras de Wireflow, junto con la luminaria Match instalada en la zona de recepción, complementan los elementos y detalles de acero ennegrecido presentes en el espacio.
